Ramon Eyes Real Madrid Return After Rising at Como

Real Madrid youth product Jacobo Ramon continues to chase his dream of returning to the Santiago Bernabeu, even as he impresses in Serie A with Como.

Real Madrid Academy Graduate Shines in Italy

Real Madrid’s famed La Fabrica has produced countless stars, and Jacobo Ramon is determined to add his name to that illustrious list. After making his senior debut under Carlo Ancelotti during the 2024-25 season, featuring in three La Liga matches and one Champions League outing, the 20-year-old defender took a bold step last summer. Ramon transferred to Como for €2.5 million, enticed by the opportunity to play under Spanish legend Cesc Fabregas, who convinced him that Como was the best place to continue his development.

Primary Focus: Ramon’s Real Madrid Ambition

Despite his successful transition to Italian football, Ramon keeps his ultimate goal clear. In a recent interview, the defender declared, “I strive to reach Real Madrid level, which is the highest level. I’m super happy here, I’m doing what I have to do. And in the future, we’ll see.” Ramon’s commitment to excellence has translated to the pitch: he has started seven of Como’s ten Serie A games this season, quickly becoming a defensive mainstay. Most recently, his commanding performance helped Como hold Serie A champions Napoli to a goalless draw.

Memorable Encounter with Xabi Alonso

Ramon also shared his admiration for Real Madrid’s current manager, Xabi Alonso. Recalling their first meeting, he said, “I remember perfectly when he came into the locker room. It was the first time I’d ever met a football legend like Xabi! He loved the rondos, the small-sided games, and was always involved. His team always won! He hasn’t lost his long-range shooting touch.” Ramon reflects on how Alonso’s influence—both as a player and now as a manager—shaped his own approach and values, emphasizing humility, hard work, and tactical awareness.

Ramon’s Transition to Como Under Fabregas

Explaining his move to Como, Ramon credits Fabregas’ vision and the club’s ambitious project. “Cesc and I immediately understood each other. The environment is perfect, and I found friends already on the team. I started straight away with two games as a starter and couldn’t have asked for more. Fabregas told me I was perfect for him, and I’ve already learned a lot in just a few weeks. It’s a privilege to have him as my coach,” Ramon told Sky Italia.

He also highlighted his friendship with fellow Spaniard Nico Paz, expressing hope they can continue growing together at Como.

Looking Ahead: The Bernabeu Dream Remains

While Ramon is thriving in Como, the pull of Real Madrid remains strong. With Madrid retaining a buy-back option, the possibility of a return is very much alive. For now, Ramon stays focused on his progression in Serie A, helping Como remain unbeaten since August 30 and preparing for their upcoming clash against Cagliari.

Ramon’s story is a testament to the value of seeking new challenges and embracing growth opportunities. Young talents like Ramon not only inspire with their skills but also with their perseverance and humility—qualities that are vital in football’s highest echelons.
