The Steelbacks overcame Worcestershire Rapids to continue their strong run in the tournament, with Willey’s milestone adding extra significance to the result.

Essex also came through their match to claim another important win, while Lancashire completed the set of successful sides with a positive result of their own. The three victories added to the momentum of the teams involved as the Blast group stage moved on.

Willey reaches captaincy milestone in Steelbacks win

Their sixth straight victory keeps them firmly in form, and the result against Worcestershire Rapids was another sign of their progress under Willey’s leadership.

Northamptonshire have built a strong sequence of results in the Vitality Blast, and this latest win extended that run at Wantage Road. The captain’s milestone and the team’s continued success made it a notable evening for the Steelbacks.

Essex and Lancashire also secure victories
